Fight against Sexual Corruption: Risk Mapping Workshop Held in Antsiranana

Funded by the International Organization of La Francophonie (IOF) and led by the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO), a risk mapping workshop aimed at identifying corruption risks and formulating effective recommendations to combat sexual corruption was held on 29 and 30 January 2026 in the city of Antsiranana. Organized in close collaboration with the University of Antsiranana, the workshop brought together key actors from the academic community (university leaders, faculty members, and students), senior officers and judicial police officers from the justice sector, the National Gendamerie, and the National Police, representatives of civil society, parents of students, as well as technical staff from BIANCO Antsiranana.

In a speech delivered at the opening of the workshop, the President of the University of Antsiranana recalled the commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to address this scourge, notably through Service Note No. 017-25/MESUPRES/CAC/SPVU issued on 30 November 2025. He further pledged to take into account the recommendations resulting from the workshop in the ongoing efforts to progressively eradicate the risks of sexual corruption within the University of Antsiranana.

For his part, the Director General of BIANCO emphasized  his speech on the relevance of the workshop as a participatory platform designed to define practical and coordinated measures to prevent sexual corruption. He also announced the forthcoming establishment of a dedicated unit within BIANCO Antsiranana specifically tasked with combating this phenomenon.
