TRAINING OF CUSTOMS OFFICERS ON THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION
Around forty officers from the customs offices of Antananarivo were the beneficiaries of a first training session held at the Carlton Anosy on 9 and 10 September 2025, following the integration of the fight against corruption module into the curriculum of the National Superior School of Customs (ENSD ) in Madagascar.
Co-organized by the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO) and ENSD, the workshop marks the start of a broader process supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) aimed at strengthening the fight against corruption within the Malagasy customs sector.
In his opening speech, Mr. Gaby Nestor RAZAKAMANANTSOA – Director General of BIANCO, emphasized the importance of integrating this module into the ENSD curriculum as a key tool for promoting integrity among customs officers. This aligns with the third strategic objective of the new National Anti-Corruption Strategy (SNLCC) 2025–2030 and the second chapter of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), which Madagascar is currently in the process of implementing and evaluating.
Continuing this approach, a second training workshop is scheduled for customs officers in Toamasina on 23 and 24 September 2025.
