FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION : UNIVERSITY OF TOLIARA TAKES ANOTHER STEP FORWARD IN INTEGRITY TRAINING

How can future professionals be prepared to recognise corrupt practices, understand risk situations and, above all, know how to resist them when confronted with pressure, favouritism or conflicts of interest?

It was around this question that the University of Toliara and the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO) concluded a two-day workshop on September 3, 2026, dedicated to designing a teaching on a culture of integrity , ethics, and the fight against corruption. The activity gives concrete effect to an action already included in the action plan of the cooperation agreement signed on 29 June 2026 between the University of Toliara and BIANCO. It therefore comes at a particularly timely moment, with funding from the International Organisation of La Francophonie and the Swiss Confederation making it possible to hold the workshop.

The University of Toliara was broadly represented throughout the two days. Its various components took part in the discussions, including faculties, higher schools, institutes and structures involved in training and governance. This collective reflection resulted in a first draft syllabus, marking a concrete step towards the implementation of this teaching  at the University of Toliara.

For BIANCO, preventing corruption also involves the places where skills and awareness are developed. This workshop therefore marks a new step in the implementation of the collaboration between the University of Toliara and BIANCO. The work will continue with the finalization of the syllabus and the implementation of the teaching.
