CNUCC : le 2nd cycle d’examen de Madagascar se poursuit

UNCAC : Madagascar’s second review cycle continues

After completing its self-assessment—the first phase of the country review process under the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC)—Madagascar is now preparing to move on to the second phase, namely the country visit. From June 29 to July 3, experts from Tanzania and Djibouti, mandated by the Conference of the States Parties to evaluate the country, will visit Madagascar to gather responses to their observations following the preliminary review of the self-assessment checklist.

To better coordinate actions and further raise awareness among national actors about the importance of this country review, a meeting is held today, April 13, 2026, in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Anosy. Jointly organized by the co-focal points BIANCO and Integrity Safeguard Committee (CSI), the session brought together a wide range of national actors, including heads of institutions and those from the Anti-Corruption System (ACS), senior officials from ministerial sectors and anti-corruption structures, as well as representatives from the private sector and civil society organizations.

In his remarks, the Director General of BIANCO, RAZAKAMANANTSOA Gaby Nestor, particularly emphasized that this process is not an evaluation of the five entities constituting the ACS , but rather a review of Madagascar as a State Party to UNCAC. He stressed that the full mobilization of all  stakeholders is required.
