Fight against corruption : BIANCO presents its 2025 results to technical and financial partners

The presentation of the annual activity report 2025 of the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO) continued today with a session held at its headquarters in Ambohibao for members of the diplomatic corps and technical and financial partners.

During his address, Nestor  Gaby  RAZAKAMANANTSOA, Director General of BIANCO, outlined the Bureau’s key achievements in implementing the National Anti-Corruption Strategy: 641 corruption cases detected and referred to the anti-corruption units, resulting in the placement in pre-trial detention of 215 individuals; the freezing of bank accounts and seizure of assets estimated at 278,306,722,693 ariary; the organization of corruption risk mapping workshops at the level of local authorities; the mobilization of more than 9,000 young people through 175 operational Integrity and Honesty Networks (RHI)   across the country; capacity-building for more than 4,600 public officials through 204 anti-corruption structures (STAC) established within ministries and their decentralized entities; and the training of more than 600 mayors and other communal actors.

The session also provided an opportunity for members of the diplomatic corps and technical and financial partners to gain a better understanding of BIANCO and to exchange views on the challenges of combating corruption, as well as on prospects for collaboration in 2026. Notable participants included the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Madagascar, the Honorary Consul General of the Kingdom of Norway, and senior representatives from organizations such as the African Union (AU), European Union (EU), the United States Embassy in Madagascar, the African Development Bank (ADB), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
